Berries of all varieties are plentiful this time of year. You may be lucky enough to have some in your own backyard, but they just as easily can be purchased at the local farmer's market or vegetable stand and they are very inexpensive this time of year. I use them in the following recipe "Berry Delicious Crumble Pie" and also freeze several gallons for the winter months.
2. Arrange berries in crust. In a medium bowl combine sour cream,
brown sugar, flour, vanilla, and lemon juice. Spread evenly over
berries.
3. In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, sugar, and butter. Drizzle over sour cream mixture.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until pie is set and
crumbs are lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool 1 hour.
ENJOY!
Refrigerate any leftovers. Yield: 8 servings

Home-Fries for the whole family for 34 cents. When my family wants home-fries, I take a bag of french-fry pieces and ends, (34 cents for a
1 pound bag at the grocery outlet), and toss it in the microwave to thaw while the skillet is heating. I chop the pieces with a spatula while they are frying and in just a few minutes I have home-fries. They are actually cheaper than raw potatoes and you don't have to peel them.

An easy remedy to feeding the birds right now is not to dead head any of your flowers like sunflowers or cosmos as the smaller birds love to feast on their seeds.

Use cloth napkins instead of paper towels and paper napkins. These can be washed and used over and over again. You won't have to purchase paper products. This will save a lot of money.

I always take my tote bag, while shopping. The tote bag can be washed and used for many years. By using my tote bag, I avoid using plastic bags which are the leading cause for pollution.

Cut up old t-shirts and/or towels to use as rags instead of paper towels. Keep them under the sink to wipe up big spills then throw them in the washer to use again.

Congratulations Barbra A., IL!
When I've used up jars of sauce, salsa,
mustard, jam, etc... I don't discard them.
Instead, I remove the labels, clean the
jars and use them for storage. They work
great for rice, pasta and nuts in the pantry,
and you can even use them in the fridge
for soups, broths, veggies and more.

Congratulations Kim C., AZ!
I found an easy way to incorporate yogurt into my families diet (no one but me will eat it) I have created a few dressings....mix 1- 8 ounce carton plain yogurt with 3 tablespoons mayonnaise and either 2 Tablespoons Lemon or Lime Juice-depending on if you want a lemon or lime dressing for your salad, a tablespoon of mustard, 1/4 tsp garlic powder and 1/4 tsp white pepper if desired. Great served on any salad. I have even tried it with orange juice and grapefruit juice but it depends on what type salad you use these with.
